Lights, Camera, Inspiration: CNBC Studios
In February 2020, students from Hikmat Foundation embarked on a transformative immersion program in Delhi, with a highlight that would leave a lasting impression: a visit to the CNBC studios and an exclusive session with the trailblazing journalist Shereen Bhan.
The students were welcomed into the dynamic world of broadcasting, where they learned about the art of media production, the power of storytelling, and the confidence required to thrive in front of the camera. Guided by Ms. Bhan, they had the unique opportunity to step into the studio spotlight, recording their own broadcast and experiencing firsthand the intricacies of television journalism. Afterward, they ventured into the editing room to see their footage come to life, gaining a deeper appreciation for the precision and collaboration that defines the industry.
Shereen Bhan, a beacon of professionalism and grace, was an extraordinary role model for the students. Her generosity and approachability made the experience unforgettable. She shared insights from her illustrious career, inspiring the students to embrace confidence, curiosity, and determination. Her words resonated deeply, especially for the young women in the group, showcasing the heights they could aspire to reach in any field.
The visit concluded with a warm and memorable gathering, where Shereen graciously hosted the students for snacks and informal conversation. Her genuine interest in their stories and aspirations left an indelible mark on their hearts and minds.
This unforgettable experience was more than just a glimpse into the world of media; it was a masterclass in courage, creativity, and possibility. The students returned to their classrooms empowered and inspired, carrying with them the lessons and memories of an incredible day that will forever shape their journeys.
