Empowering the Future, One Girl at a Time: At Hikmat Foundation, our mission is to break the barriers to education faced by girls in India's West Champaran District, Bihar.

We believe in the transformative power of education as a catalyst for change, not just for individuals but for entire societies. Through a holistic approach encompassing access to quality education, life skills training, and supportive mentorship, we are committed to nurturing the potential of each student.

Our goal is to empower them to rise above their circumstances, become agents of change in their communities, and pave the way for a future where gender and economic status no longer dictate one's access to opportunities and the right to dream big.

Together, we are building a foundation of hope, resilience, and empowerment, for every girl has the right to learn, lead, and flourish.

Re-Wiring the Standard of Education

While the Indian government has a few schools in the West Champaran region of Bihar, many young girls must travel far for basic education. And, in reality, the standard of education these girls receive lags their peers in other parts of the country. Most girls, even if enrolled, attend infrequently and seldom past Grade 5.

To bridge this gap and to empower young women from Bihar, Hikmat Foundation has been establishing schools for girls in rural areas.

The schools are intended not only to impart formal education and award degrees, but also to be centers for general upliftment and empowerment of girls: through focus on health & hygiene, sports, confidence building, community outreach, and vocational training.
