Noor Girls High Schools are located in West Champaran, Bihar – a remote area by all means. But with technology and the generosity of donors who have donated laptops, projectors and funds for internet connectivity, remote teaching has become possible as well. This has also sparked a deep interest in our students for careers in technical fields. During our students’ exploration trip to Delhi in February 2020, they met Tanya Arora.

Tanya Arora is a mobile app developer who spoke to our students about careers in technology and resisting family pressures. Like many women, she too was told to pursue a less challenging path — one where “all your classmates won’t be boys.” And yet, Tanya persisted. Straight from her talk at Hikmat Foundation, Tanya left to attend her own sangeet — truly proving that women can do it all!
